MediCupping
MediCupping is the use of glass and plastic cups on the skin with a variety of techniques such as gliding, rolling, popping, pumping and rotating. It differs from manual cups in that it is done with a machine. These techniques allow for a gentle, comfortable separation of tissue. This separation increases local blood supply to muscles and skin, which enables water absorption and the elimination of old waste and congestion.
Why Use MediCupping versus Stand Alone Cups?
There are numerous benefits to any cupping technique, but there are several reasons why MediCupping provides a more versatile and potentially more effective cupping treatment than stand-alone cups used with a hand pump. MediCupping allows for an even suction that can be easily adjusted. MediCupping also allows for two cups to be used simultaneously. Only the MediCupping technique makes it possible to treat small areas that cannot be as easily treated or accessed with standard cups. Smaller cups can smoothly glide over smaller areas of the body - hands, feet, or base of the skull, for example.
Lymphatic Drainage:
The lymphatic system is responsible for moving fluid out of the interstitial space and back to the cardiovascular system, allowing the body to shed toxins. It also plays a significant role in fat absorption and immune surveillance by recognizing and responding to foreign cells, then ridding the body of these cells. The body has to store that which it cannot process and eliminate, resulting in an accumulation of old medications, inflammatory agents, cellular waste and acids in stagnant lymph fluid. There is no centralized pump within the lymphatic system, so the body relies on movement to circulate the lymph fluid. This movement can be achieved through manual lymphatic drainage techniques as well as cupping techniques.
At Rooted, LLC, lymphatic drainage is performed using a vacuum cupping machine, with a technique called MediCupping. MediCupping is the use of glass and plastic cups on the skin with a variety of techniques such as gliding, rolling, popping, pumping and rotating. These techniques allows for a gentle, comfortable separation of tissue and increased local blood supply to muscles and skin. And it is this separation that enables water absorption and the elimination of old waste and congestion.
When using the MediCupping for lymphatic drainage, the cups are used in a specific pattern, and with a technique that separates any fused, congested soft tissue, thus enabling that tissue to have space for water absorption and blood flow. Imagine a stagnant pond that has no water flow, creating a build up of pollution. Our body, mostly made of water, can turn into this pond, with a build up of toxins. Lymphatic drainage creates a way for that pond to turn into a flowing river, allowing for new fresh nutrients to flow within our tissue, providing our bodies with many benefits.
